Hey David Weck here.

Today I want to talk to you about Non-Dominant Side Training™. We all have a dominant side and we have a non-dominant side, and we want to make the non-dominant side strong and powerful.

We program the intelligence of the dominant side into the non-dominant side using what's called the Compare and Contrast Principle. We borrow the intelligence of how we are doing it on the dominant side, and then we move over to the non-dominant side and compare that. How does it feel? Now the irony is that the dominant side actually gets better too.

So look at the simple math of it. If you're a 9 out of 10 on your dominant side, but you're only a 5 out of 10 on your non-dominant side you add up to 14. But if you can make the non-dominant side up to a 7, say, now we're up to a 16. You're just a better athlete!

Look at basketball, if you can't dribble with your left hand, defender doesn't have to guard that side. It's just harder to score a basket. Great example was Manny Pacquiao. Freddie Roach took him from basically a one-sided fighter to both sides, transformed him. He's one of the greatest of all time. WHY? Because he's great with the non-dominant side.

And if sports isn't your total thing, think about this, Non-Dominant Side Training™ incorporated into your exercise actually will result in better balance through the brain, better mental function. Because this side of the brain [points to right side], controls this side of the body [points to left side] and vice versa. And when we have that non-dominant side capacity you literally have better balance in your brain too.

This is why we focus so heavily with WeckMethod on developing the non-dominant side. To learn more about visit WeckMethod, follow us on social media @weckmethod.

In balance and strength, David Weck
