I am learning to practice mindfulness.

I know I can do it when I can be calm and present in any given moment.

Mindfulness is our ability to be calm and present at any given moment. You can practice mindfulness by slowing down and concentrating on one thing at a time. You could focus on your breathing, listening to music or the sounds around you.

Independent Task

Print out the colouring sheet below or use one that you already have at home.

Take your colouring pencils or textas to a nice quiet spot in your house or your garden.

You may like to play some music or just listen to the sounds around you. Begin colouring in, take your time and colour slowly and carefully.

Concentrate only on your colouring.

Try to colour without talking to anyone or becoming distracted.

You do not need to complete the whole colouring sheet. 10-20 minutes per sitting is enough. Perhaps you could do a little bit each day.

When you finish, admire your work. Share it with your family. Maybe you could give it to someone as an act of kindness to brighten up their day.
