Wednesday 27th October – Wellbeing

Gratitude

I am learning to be thankful for what I do have.

I know I can do it when I can look for the good in a situation rather than the bad.

Reflection on Remote Learning!

We have just had the fabulous news over the weekend that will be going back to school full-time next week from Monday 1st November (Tuesday 2nd November is a Public Holiday for Melbourne Cup Day).

Now is a good time to think back on all the things we have done at home during Remote Learning. Although we couldn’t go to school we did get to connect with our teachers and classmates on WebEx. We did get to have some fun times at home with our families and most importantly, we stayed safe. These are all things to be grateful or thankful for.

Activity

Draw a picture of one or some the things you were grateful for during Remote Learning.

Write a sentence to explain your drawing.

I am grateful for being able to go on picnics over the last few weeks of remote learning

Kindness

I am learning to be kind to others

I know I can do it when I can recognise an opportunity to be kind to others

RANDOM ACT OF KINDNESS DAY!

Today you’re going to do a random act of kindness for someone.

This means being kind to someone for no particular reason.

Write or draw a plan of what you want to do.

Complete the random act of kindness.

Once you’ve completed the random act of kindness write down how it made you feel.

Here is a great clip to get you motivated:

Wednesday 13th October 2021 – Wellbeing

Concept: Mindfulness

I am learning to concentrate on what I am doing without talking

I know I can do it when I can go for a mindfulness walk without talking

Mindful Walk

You are going to go on a mindful walk. You can do this in your home, your yard or around the street. Make sure an adult goes with you if you are leaving your property.

To work mindfully you need to walk without talking.

See if you can find 3 things you have not noticed before.

When you come home you like might to put on some relaxing music and draw a picture of what you saw.

Wednesday 6th October – Wellbeing

Social Connectedness

I am learning to keep my social connection with my friend/s during lockdown

I know I can do it when I can contact a friend and keep in touch

While we are in lockdown we are not able to go to friends’ houses or have playdates. It is possible and important for us to stay in touch with our friends and keep our social connection with them. This will help our well being and keep us feeling happy. People have been coming up with lots of creative ways to do this. Some ideas are listed below:

  • phone calls
  • video calls
  • text messages
  • letters
  • emails
  • photos
  • a walk with a friend
  • play in the playground

Make sure you do all of these activities in line with lockdown restrictions

Independent Task

Choose one of the methods above and contact a friend. You may want to contact a different friend each day or just once. Do what suits you best. You might like to write or draw about what you did and how it made you feel.
