14th September – Welcome To Grade 1

Live Mathletics

I am learning to learning to compete against others from my school in Mathletics.

I know I can do it when I have played Mathletics Live against others from my school.

You are all familiar with Mathletics by now. Some of you may have already explored the Live Mathletics option, others may not have.

Today is your opportunity to all log into the program and compete in math problems against others from your grade and year level.

In order to do this, you all need to log into Live Mathletics at the same time.

At 11:30am today you will log into Mathletics.

Click PLAY and it will take you through to Live Mathletics.

You will then select class or school to be able to compete against others from Birralee.

You will be given math problems that you need to solve, playing against other people from your class and year level.

Creating a Kitchen Disco Character

I am learning to create my own character.

I know I can do it when I have created a character with character traits and abilities.

This week, we are preparing for the Grade One Disco on Friday.

Independent Task

Can you draw or make your own Kitchen Disco character?

Consider other items found in your kitchen for your inspiration such as tongs, pots, fridge, saucepans, and cutlery.

What is your character’s name?

What sort of character are they? Happy? Grumpy? Sleepy?

What is their favorite dance move?

Can you make or cut the character out and bring it to the disco on Friday to dance with?
