Using Adjectives

I am learning to use adjectives to describe nouns.

I know I can do it when I can choose interesting adjectives to describe nouns.

Yesterday you became weather investigators, today you are going to have a go at becoming weather reporters!

Independent Task

Imagine that you are a weather reporter on the nightly news!

Using the adjectives that you came up with to describe the weather yesterday, you can make an oral weather report to your family.

You may like to write out a paragraph to explain the weather and rehearse before presenting to your family. You could even film it and send it to your teacher.

You will need to head outside and sit quietly to observe and feel the weather.

What does the sky look like?

How does the temperature feel against your skin?

What sounds can you hear?

What can you smell?

Can you taste anything?

In your Journal, draw a picture of the sky and write a list of adjectives to describe the weather. See if you can write at least 10.

What are adjectives?

Adjectives are words that we use to describe nouns. Some examples include: sweet, soft, scruffy, tiny and huge.

Choose a loved object from your bedroom. In your Journal, draw the object using as much detail as you can. Come up with 6-8 adjectives that describe the object you have chosen. Choose your words carefully.
