Once you have built the course, test it out to see if it works. Then invite your family members to have a go. Use a stopwatch to see who can complete the course in the fastest time.

If you like, you can even send your teacher some photos or a video of you doing your obstacle course. Good luck, and be sure to put everything away when you’ve finished with it!

Activity 2 – Mindful Walk

The practice of mindful walking is an opportunity to give our minds a break. We try to focus on the present moment with each step that we take. When we take a mindful walk, we are paying attention to how our body feels, our breathing and the nature around us.

How to take a Mindful Walk:

1. Begin walking, a little slower than normal.

2. Pay attention to each step that you take.

3. Be aware of each breath.

4. Breathe easily, but deeply.

5. Use your 5 senses as you walk – What can you see, hear, feel, smell and taste?

Activity 3 – Specialist Activities.

Don’t forget to complete your Art, Mandarin, Music and P.E. tasks! You can also visit the Birralee STEM Blog for more fun and hands-on activities.
