Tuesday 5th October -Literacy

Holiday Recount

I am learning to write a series of sequential events and use consistent capital letters and full stops.

I know I can do it when I can use consistent capital letters and full stops in my recount.

Today is writing time!

Yesterday you listed all of the activities that you completed in the holidays, today you are going to write about them.

Independent Task

You are going to write a recount about what you did during your school holidays.

You can include a few things that you wrote on your list yesterday OR write about one of your favourite things that you did in lots of detail.

Make your writing more colourful by including interesting verbs and adjectives. Such as slide, run, walk, think, watch, walk, make, adventurous, brave, bored, helpful, friendly, large, high etc…

Some helpful words to use when writing your paragraphs:

First, next, then, soon, during, after, later, eventually, and finally.

For example:

During the Spring school holidays I spent the whole time with my family.

First, we went on many long walks. My feet ended up being so sore as we were doing over 10,000 steps per day!

Next, we had a family movie night. We watched Cruella and popped salty popcorn to share. Later, that night we camped in our backyard. It was cold so we made sure we had lots of blankets. I could hear the sirens from the nearby police station.

I enjoyed spending the school holidays with my family. I was happy to have a rest from my computer!

Please note: This task will need to be submitted on or before Thursday 7th October 3:30pm.

Please see the following rubric as a marking guide.
